In this investigation, the distribution of the ratio of two independently distributed xgamma (Sen et al. 2016) random variables X and Y, with different parameters, is proposed and studied. The related distributional properties such as, shape, moments, and entropy measures, are investigated. A characterization of the distribution is accomplished using truncated moments. To estimate the parameters of the distribution, seven different methods of estimation are suggested under complete sample set up. Moreover, the proposed ratio distribution is applied to two real life data sets and compared with some well-known standard distributions. The applied result of the study indicates that the proposed distribution is better fit to the real data sets than the compared distributions.
